Our Favourite Products For World Chocolate Day 2024

The 7th of July marks World Chocolate Day - or as we like to call it - the adult’s version of Easter. Now a few years ago when we wrote this post, we created an introduction that had a bounty of chocolate puns filled in and to this day, we still can’t beat it. So here it is again; don’t you dare snickers. You know you love it as much as we do. Although you may need a boost to get through them all - some of them do get a little flake-y. So, while we take a quick time out why don’t you jump on a double-decker bus, head to the shops and get your hands on some of these delicious chocolate products? Don’t worry - just like last time, we will see ourselves out - although the only place far enough away from these embarrassing puns is a Galaxy far far away. Lucky for you - these chocolate goodies are worth it - as we have scoured high and low for the best chocolate products 2024 has to offer.

Bonne Maman

Bonne Maman Hazelnut Chocolate Spread

Renowned for their conserves, marmalades and chutneys, all donned with that tell-tale gingham-inspired lid - Bonne Maman has knocked it out of the park with this deliciously new Hazelnut Chocolate Spread (£3.50, Ocado). Utilising their love for crafting high-quality products this rich, decadent and award-winning treat is laced with gently toasted hazelnuts and blended into a smooth spread that is perfect on a hot buttered baguette, spread across crêpes or eaten straight from the jar.

Mandira's Kitchen

Midnight Garam Masala

Taking influence from their rich heritage, Mandira’s Kitchen has produced a range of chocolate bars, bursting with flavour. Our favourite - the Midnight Garam Masala (£4.50, Mandiras Kitchen) - this twilight dark chocolate packs a punch of classic spices that cover your palate in a layer of warmth and comfort. The range also includes Bombay Mix Burst: a traditional Indian spice mix enveloped in smooth chocolate creating a mixture of different spices and textures and Chai and Biscoff Bliss: a reminiscing dance of chai and Biscoff marrying together in perfect harmony.

ManiLife | Victoria Greensmith Photography

ManiLife Rich Cocoa Smooth Peanut Butter

We know our nut butter here, we are basically connoisseurs by now; this Rich Cocoa Smooth one by ManiLife (£4, Sainsbury’s) hits all the right notes. Sweet, salty, smooth and oh-so-moorish. Made with a rich cocoa powder that is fully traceable from Bean to Butter - it will be hard to find a better peanut butter that hits all the right chocolate notes without one overpowering the other. So grab your golden spoon (iykyk) and dive right in.

Beanies

Chocolate Brownie Coffee

Hook this into my veins, writer Adam says. It is luxurious, the taste is so smooth, and it genuinely tastes like you are drinking a coffee brownie. I would happily replace my daily coffee choice with this; if you like brownies and coffee - then this instant Chocolate Brownie Coffee (£3, Beanies Flavour Co.) may just be your next replacement too.

Wickedly Welsh

Raspberry & Vodka Dark Chocolate Bar

Looking for something a little devilish? Well, look no further. This Raspberry & Vodka Bar (£4.99, Wickedly Welsh) contains a soft ganache filled with tart raspberry that is contrasted by the freeze-dried raspberries on top. The vodka adds a dryness that contributes to the luxuriousness of the bar without being too overpowering. It’s an elegant and opulent bar, where special moments are enveloped in individual squares.

Mummy Meegz

Peanut M’z Gems

We stan the original Peanut M&M’s but Mummy Meegz option, suitable for those following a vegan or gluten-free diet is a very close contender to taking over that top spot. Coming in both a Crunchy Chocolate version and the Peanut variety (a clear favourite to us), Mummy Meegz Peanut M’z Gems (£2.99, Goodness Goodies) contain roasted peanuts surrounded by a sweet crunchy shell. They have a great sweetness to them, making them a great option for both kids and adults alike and a fantastic crunch that can rival even the best of the best.

Barebells

Barebells Coco-Choco Protein Bar

Looking for something a little healthier this World Chocolate Day but don’t want to give up on flavour? Enter Barebells. Their Coco Choco (£23.99 for 12, Barebells) is a fantastic alternative to a standard Bounty Bar IMO. Containing a substantial coconut filling that is not too gooey, or too dry… Barebells have found the right ratio of flavour and texture in their filling before enrobing it in a layer of milk chocolate. The perfect afternoon pick-me-up.

Love Cocoa

Blonde Chocolate Bar

A clear favourite for all the right reasons. This Blonde Chocolate Bar (£5, Love Cocoa) is soft with an immediate creamy, banana-like flavour that rounds out into a sweet toffee and caramel note on the palate. With the white chocolate base before being caramelised, this Blonde chocolate becomes reminiscent of a banana split sundae. A fantastic summer treat for all sweet-tooth lovers.

Lost Sheep

Iced Coffee Mocha

Lost Sheep Coffee - known for their speciality grade barista style coffee in a can - that is, FYI, ‘fully farm to can’ traceable has released their brand-new iced Mocha (£8 for four, Lost Sheep Coffee) - a delicious blend of smooth chocolate and caramel. Alongside their Aussie-Style Latte, the two speciality canned coffees in their range are hand-blended in the UK, and offer the best alternative to an iced mocha that is low in calories but full in flavour. Ready to drink in a sleek, convenient can - it’s a win from us.

Sweet Freedom

Choc Pot Caramel Chocolate Spread

This thick and creamy Choc Caramel Spread (£3.15, Sweet Freedom) has a ganache-like consistency, adding to the luxuriousness of the chocolate experience. You get a deep, dark chocolate flavour with caramelised afternotes. The caramel comes through at the end allowing the chocolate to take the spotlight with lingering caramel notes. Each pot follows Sweet Freedom’s ethos of using no refined sugar, artificial sweeteners or flavours, vegan-friendly, and no palm oil.

Bonne Maman

Bonne Maman Chocolate Cake

Bonne Maman is coming in strong with another brand-new addition to their UK range in the form of these soft, moist and delectable Chocolate Cakes (£3, Waitrose). Each individually wrapped cake is perfect popped in your bag to eat on the go, or made even more luxurious heated in the microwave for a few seconds and served with ice cream and fresh berries.

HAPPi

HAPPi Celebration Bar

If HAPPi is one of your go-to chocolate brands like it is ours, you’ll be stuck with the same scenario - there just isn’t enough in a pack. But HAPPi has come to save the day - with their brand-new mega slabs. Dubbed their Celebration Style Bars - each extra large bar comes in 500g of their signature rich and creamy oat mi!k chocolate. There are two delicious bars to choose from - one inscribed with ‘Congratulations’ and the other ‘Happy Birthday' (£19, HAPPi Choc) but if you want to keep them for yourself, we wouldn’t blame you.

Bird and Blend

Chocolate Digestive Tea

Available in both Loose Leaf or Tea Bags, Bird and Blend, the magicians behind the eco-conscious tea brand have come up with a British Classic in tea form. Their Chocolate Digestive Tea (£3.50, Bird and Blend) is one of their best-selling chocolate teas and is best enjoyed whilst dunkin’ the real thing inside. You can expect both sweet chocolate and biscuit notes with fudgy, caramel and toffee notes on the back of the palate.

Cadbury

Crunchie Doughnuts

Returning for a second year, Cadbury Crunchie has released their Crunchie Doughnuts (£1.50 for a two-pack) inspired by the iconic chocolate bars. Boasting an indulgent combination of chocolate honeycomb icing, chocolate coated golden honeycomb on a fluffy dough encasing a gooey caramel filling - you just can’t beat it. Available now from Asda, Co-op and Tesco Express for a limited time, you better grab yours quick.

Project #173

Chocolate Rum

This luxurious Chocolate Rum by Project #173 (£19.95, Master of Malt) sure packs a punch. With an ABV of 42%, this Dominican Rum is infused with chocolate adding a beautifully sweet flavour to the bottle. You get the bitterness, richness and sweetness from the chocolate across the board - on the nose, palate and lingering finish without it being overpowering or out of balance. A high-quality rum enhanced with chocolate - perfect for sipping on the rocks or mixed into cocktails.
