Jack Daniel's Finally Releases Two New Bottles After 25 Years
Yes, you read that right - Jack Daniel’s - the infamous Tennessee Whiskey has finally added two new blends to its super premium core range after 25 years. The two new additions: Jack Daniel’s Bonded and Jack Daniel’s Triple Mash are available to purchase now and whiskey lovers are rejoicing. However, we have our suspicions that this might not be the only expansion we can expect to see from the Tennessee distillers in the near future… and we can’t wait.
And why is that? It’s been a little over a quarter of a century since something this big was launched by the brand and that’s not just down to the ol’ “perfection takes time” excuse. As the first two new permanent expression for the brand they had to be specially curated from barrel to bottle in order to hold up against the strict specifications that have been previously outlined, aptly known as Bottle in Bond Act of 1897 - “a bonded whiskey such as these must be distilled and bottle by a single distiller during a single season; matured in a government bonded warehouse for at least four years and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV)” according to sources from Jack Daniels.
Being recognised in more than 170 countries across the world, Jack Daniel’s is a true global icon and those standards need to be upheld as these two new bottles join their already impressive range.
Both of the new bottles are expertly crafted and have a unique variation on the original design of the 1895 Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey Bottle - honouring over 150 years whiskey making. And they have been designed to be enjoyed neat. They promise a smooth sip with sophisticated flavours.
Jack Daniel’s Bonded Tennessee Whiskey is taken from Jack’s time-honoured recipe before being barrelled in hand-selected casks that were chosen for their unique and particular characteristics resulting in a darker, richer and more oak flavour. You can expect the big, bold Tennessee taste you know and love but underneath you can find layered notes of spice, rich oak and caramel that give way to a pleasant lingering finish that is perfect for sippin’ under the moonlight.
If you fancy something a little different, Jack Daniel’s Triple Mash Blended Straight Whiskey is your pick. The name may be long and hard to read after one too many glasses, but the pleasant notes of honey, malt and soft oak on this lighter expression make it all worth it. There’s a blend of three straight Bottled-In-Bond whiskeys at play here - Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye, 60%, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, 20% and Jack Daniel’s American Malt, 20%. Each distilled in Lynchburg, Tennessee, and in the same distilling season, aged to those specifications we mentioned earlier but creating a beautiful lighter blend with a well-rounded finish.
Whiskey fans can get their hands on the latest Jack Daniel’s Bonded and Triple Mash bottles via specialist retailers including Master of Malt, Hard to Find Whisky and The Whisky Shop, with an RRP of £45 for 70cl.
