Everyone has that bucket list of things they want to do – be it food they want to eat, places to go or experiences to try. For me, I have a bucket list of guests I want to interview; Renee Paquette was top of that list, and had been for many years.
Until now – because I’ve finally interviewed her for Consommé Sessions!
Renee is one of, if not the top female sports broadcaster in America, who made a name for herself in the world of professional wrestling, becoming one of the most well-respected names in the entire sports broadcasting world. Using her rather large social media platform which has more than 1 million followers on Instagram alone, Renee started to showcase a different side of her a few years ago, when she began cooking… a lot.
And now that journey has become a cookbook.
Messy In The Kitchen: My Guide to Eating Deliciously, Hosting Fabulously and Sipping Copiously (Permuted Press, £17.60) is out in June in the UK, but comes out this week in America. She takes her experiences of travelling around the world with World Wrestling Entertainment and mixes those with her Instagram Live cooking experiments, plus recipes from family members, neighbours and more, to create her debut cookbook.
It’s a brilliant book, featuring around 60 recipes – but no desserts (you’ll have watch the interview to find out why!) It was an absolute pleasure to spend nearly an hour chatting with her about food for the latest episode of Consommé Sessions, as it’s a topic she’s clearly as incredibly passionate about as much as we are and we hope you enjoy it, as much as we do,
