Boasting an impressive AA 5-Star experience, the first and only in Northumberland to hold, Matfen Hall is a luxury like no other; their Afternoon Tea is exclusively served in their stunning ‘The Drawing Room’, which is adorned in shades of royal blue surrounding the beautiful ornate fireplace making it the perfect setting for a delicious Afternoon Tea with friends, family and loved ones. Served from 12 pm to 4 pm, Tuesday - Saturday.

Starting from just £35 Matfen Hall’s Classic Afternoon Tea (£35pp) allows you to savour delicate finger sandwiches and in-house-made pastries including a comté cheese duck egg custard and caramelised red onion tartlets on the savoury and a local Northumberland honey whipped ganache with yuzu curd, sweet pastry and bee pollen on the sweet. Each afternoon tea is accompanied by lemon and poppy seed scones served with clotted cream and homemade jam as well as Isle of Mull Cheddar Cheese scones with whipped chilli butter. The Classic Afternoon Tea comes complete with a choice of Newby Teas and Café du Monde coffee.

For an extra £15pp you can opt for their Champagne Afternoon Tea (£50pp) which includes everything in the Classic, as well as a delectable glass of chilled Laurent-Perrier Harmony - adding just a little something to your experience.

If one glass isn’t enough or you are looking to explore more into the world of Laurent-Perrier, Matfen Hall offers a gorgeously unique Laurent Perrier Afternoon Tea (£60pp) which includes a tasting flight of Laurent-Perrier Harmony, Laurent-Perrier Cuvée and Laurent-Perrier Rosé all chosen to perfectly compliment their handpicked Afternoon Tea menu.

Finally, if you are looking for something extra special, Matfen Hall’s ‘An Afternoon of Indulgence’ (£500 for four) is just the ticket.
