The Best New Food Launches From This Month
This page is updated frequently with the best buys as they hit the shelves.
As much as we love our old trusted favourites we also love adding new ones to that (ever-growing) list. And, as we all know, with a new month comes a whole heap of new launches; this month has not disappointed. This month has brought a variety of delicious and decadent treats that we just had to share. So grab your current favourite snack, while you search for its replacement, because here are our top food picks that landed on the shelves this month and the ones you should be adding straight to your cart. We know you will love them as much as we do - but for some reason, if you don’t - we kinda don’t care, as that means more for us!
Protein Yog
Our favourite coconut yoghurt brand, The Coconut Collab has launched a brand new dairy-free yoghurt that has a whopping 10g of plant-powered protein per serving. Following the brand’s ethos, their new offering, aptly named Protein Yog (£2.75, Ocado) is completely plant-based, dairy-free and gluten-free, like their OG range - as well as being naturally low in sugar. We love this one because not only does it do good - but it tastes good, too - and is so thick and creamy we just want to eat it straight from the tub.
Smoky Chipotle
If you haven’t tried Blanco Niño’s tortilla chips yet, please start with their new flavour: Smoky Chipotle (£2.95, Ocado). Made following the Aztec Way - Blanco Niño knows that making something delicious is worth the wait, which is why their authentic tortilla chips take three days from start to finish to make - and you can definitely taste the love in every bite; these smokey chipotle ones are so Moorish. With a decent hit of smokiness and warmth, you have a chip that is packed full of flavour and that beautiful crunchy texture.
Milk Perfectly Creamy
Our brand-new obsession. Monty Bojangles, the UK brand that boasts a whole heap of awards has released their new Milk Perfectly Creamy bar (£3, Sainsbury’s) and we just can’t stop eating it. Crafted through a unique bean-to-bar recipe you can taste the love in each square of this deliciously dreamy milk chocolate. Their beautiful combination of rich Italian chocolate with creamy milk creates this wonderfully smooth finish with a creamy lingering taste that will make you want just one more piece… every time.
Cauliflower Gnocchi
Recently stumbled across at this year’s TASTE festival, Sunny & Luna create authentic Italian dishes, passed down from nonna but replaced with 50% vegetables to add a unique twist to the classics. Their Cauliflower Gnocchi (£5.99, Sunny & Luna) made with only five ingredients - and being 1 of your 5 a day - is our absolute fave. Soft, fluffy and everything you would expect from a gnocchi but light on the belly. We can’t wait to get our hands on the rest of their range: Spinach Gnocchi and Lentil Tagliatelle.
Raspberry Jam
One of our favourite jam brands’ Fearne & Rosie has released a brand-new jam - Raspberry (£3.30, Fearne & Rosie) to its already delicious line-up (make sure you try their Strawberry Super Berry Jam (£3.20, Ocado) as well). Both jams are like summer in a jar with rich deep pink hues and a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity; contain up to 40% less sugar than standard jams leaving them delicious, more fruit-forward and perfect for both kids and adults alike.
Monty Bojangles Purrs
These delicious Belgian milk chocolate truffles are velvety smooth and filled with Monty Bojangles magic before being enveloped in exquisite Belgian Chocolate. Coming complete in Monty’s iconic cat design and adorned in a beautiful bright pink box, Monty Bojangles Purrs (£6, Waitrose) are the perfect treat when you need a little something to leave you feline fine; make the perfect treat for you and your loved ones.
Strawberry & Cream Squashies
Swizzles have released the perfect summer treat - Strawberry & Cream Squashies (from £1.15). Created with the quintessential British summer in mind these beautiful soft sweets evoke the peak strawberry flavour with an added creaminess to give the ultimate summer sweet perfect for both kids and adults and great for picnics, garden parties or just movie nights at home.
Summer Special Cake
Available now from sponge.co.uk, their brand-new Summer Special Cake (£16.75, sponge) is dangerously addictive. Studded with whole blueberries throughout a lemon-infused sponge you get a rich fruity cake that gifts you with pockets of freshness and a beautiful stickiness that coats the inside of your mouth. Sandwiched together with vibrant blueberry buttercream, each slice is perfectly balanced with sweetness cut through with hints of sharp and sour lemon twangs before being rounded out with creamy white chocolate.
BOL Foods Indian Black Daal
Looking for something wholesome, hearty and a whole-lot-of-delcious? Well, let me introduce you to BOL Food’s latest addition - their Indian Black Daal (£2.80, Tesco) is filled with beautifully spiced urad lentils and kidney beans which make up the base. The rich umami-based sweet tomato rippled through lightens the dish but still allows the New Dehli Spice to shine, and is finished with a swirl of coconut cream. Both gluten-free, plant-based and packed full of fibre this is a great all-in-one option for those that love a bit of adventure and aren’t afraid to try a twist on the classics!
Cocoa Dusted Peanuts - ManiLife
Oh boy, if you haven’t had the pleasure of popping one of these little cocoa dusted peanuts by ManiLife (£3, ManiLife) in your mouth - you have not lived. Deliciously but dangerously moorish, the peanut connoisseurs have crafted the ultimate snack for peanut butter lovers. Coating their signature deep roasted, single estate peanuts in a 100% ethically sourced cocoa, ManiLife have created the crunchiest of crunchy peanut butters in a sweet and savoury grab-and-go form. Absolutely pure genius… ManiLife have gone straight to the top of my nice list; I will be popping a bag of these in as many Christmas stockings as I can.
Spicy BBQ Sauce - Real Good
Even though Summer may be over - BBQ season doesn’t have to end. Especially with this spicy version from Real Good (£3, Ocado). Made with less sugar than other brands, (70% to be precise) Real Good focuses on natural ingredients to pack a punch of flavour such as lime for a twang, chipotle chilli for some heat and coriander to round it all off. Get ready to marinade, dip, squirt and whip this bad boy out at any occasion you can - Real Good’s BBQ Sauce is the perfect year-round spicy condiment.
Bonne Maman - Blueberry Yoghurt
The latest addition to the Bonne Maman collection may just be our favourite one yet. Their blueberry yog is the fourth flavour joining their current range and is a deliciously thick, creamy and all natural yoghurt that hides a fruity explosion of blueberry compote (made with loads of fresh, ripe blueberries) underneath. Spoon straight out the tub or jazz up with some of your favourite toppings for an extra special dessert or breakfast. Head down to Waitrose (£2.65 for 4 x 125g) to grab your BM bluebs fix, before we snap them all up.
Tracklements’ Special Edition Date and Tamarind Chatni
A new launch for the condiments specialists Tracklements is their Special Edition Date and Tamarind Chatni (£3.50, 250g tracklements), both gluten-free and vegan, the addition of the sour tamarind with the sweetness from the dates makes this something truly special. Staying true to their fashion of creating layers of flavour and depth in their products, you can feel the fennel seeds, coriander seeds and ground cloves build on the palate and the traditional use of asafoetida helps round this off while packing a punch of flavour that is the perfect accompaniment to curries and stews. We particularly enjoy Tracklements suggestion of slathering over pork chops before lovingly grilling to perfection.
Miso Harissa Paste
Oh hello. Two of our favourite brands, Miso Tasty and Belazu have teamed up to release this one-of-a-kind, limited-edition cooking paste (£4.50, Belazu) that not only blends together two popular cuisines but hits all the right notes. Being the first of its kind, this delicious spicy paste is made from each brand’s collective hero products. The peppery warming spices from Belazu’s signature Rose Harissa Paste and the deep umami notes from Miso Tasty’s classic red miso paste, resulting in a perfectly rounded product that has been cut with balsamic glaze and honey to balance it all together. Use as a glaze, marinade, sauce or dip. The options are endless.
